Prior to homeschooling my daughter I taught first at an international school in Bangkok and later a Waldorf school in Seattle. Both of these experiences left me excited about all the different ways successful learning can occur. Today I am studying education in a masters degree program at Antioch University while working to create an alternative learning environment that supports the growth of my own 10 year old homeschooled daughter.
In order to foster a sense of pride in our home-based educational experience we adopted the name Huckleberry Homeschool to describe our time together learning. We are avid pickers of these tasty berries during our time spent in the mountains of eastern Washington each summer.
